How to create a MyScouting training account

(fig 1) - If you have never taken BSA online training before, go to www.myscouting.com and "Create an Account"

(fig 2) - Type in a User Name, then click the "Check User Name Availability" button.  If the name has not been taken, you will see green text that says "User Name is available! Please click Next."

(fig 3) - Click on the radio button "I am a member," then scroll down the screen.  For council name, touch the drop down menu, then select your council (Southeast Wisconsin Council #634), and type in your Member Number from your registration card.  A membership card is shown, so you can find your membership number.  If you don't know your membership number, ask your Pack Cubmaster or Committee Chairperson, Troop Scoutmaster or Committee Chairperson, or Venture Crew Advisor or Committee Chairperson.  You can also call the Council Service Center at 632-1655 to get this info.

(fig 4) - You can also register by checking the "I am not a Member" radio button, then pressing the "Next" button.  If you take courses on MyScouting in this manner, you will need to print out a course certificate and turn it in to the Council Service Center, for your course work to be posted to the official BSA "ScoutNet" course record system.

(fig 5) - Enter information about yourself.

(fig 6) - Scroll down the screen, read the terms and conditions, then click the "I accept these terms and conditions" checkbox.  Enter the "Verification Image" in the Verify box, then click the "Create User" button.

(fig 7) - You will be asked two security questions.  Pull down on the security question to select which question you wish to use, then type your response in the Answer boxes.  Security Question 2 is an example of creating your own question.

(fig 8) - You will get a message that an email will be sent to you, click the "Continue" button.

(fig 9) - Open up your email program, and you will have an email from MyScouting.  Click on the link to take you to a password change page.

(fig 10) - Create a password, then confirm it, by typing it again.  Use the Password Restriction rules as shown in the yellow box.  Click the "Change Password" button.

(fig 11) -  You will now be routed to the www.myscouting.com main page.  Click on "Training" and then "E-Learning" to take online BSA leader training courses.

(fig 13) - The next time you sign in to www.myscouting.com, enter your User Name and Password, then click the "Sign In" button.
